Sport Woking Awards 2019

28 November, 6.30pm, HG Wells Conference & Events Centre

The Sport Woking Awards 2019 are a fantastic opportunity to recognise and reward talented local sports performers, coaches, volunteers, teams and clubs for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months and honour the local passion the borough has for sport. The Sport Woking Awards 2019 are organised by Woking Borough Council in partnership with Sport Woking.

Sport Woking took nominations in the following award categories, and the winners are:

  • Young Sports Personality of the Year - Jasper Smith-Gordon, Gymnastics Club
  • Active Community Project of the Year - Ali Waheed
  • Active Surrey Coach, Leader or Instructor of the Year - Richard Buckmaster - Mayford FC
  • Active School Innovation of the Year - Amber Hillier, Barnsbury School
  • Freedom Leisure Inclusive Sports Award - Michael Day, Surrey Wheels For All
  • Outstanding Service to Sport - Richard Grady, Woking Rugby Club
  • Volunteer of the Year - Feezan Azam, Woking Tigers
  • Sports Personality of the Year - Josh Casey, Woking FC

Those who were short-listed in their categories above were invited to attend the awards show at the HG Wells Conference and Events Centre which took place on Thursday 28 November 2019, 6:30pm.

Winners from the Sport Woking Awards will go forward to Active Surrey’s county-level roadshow, where judges will decide who deserves the honour of being named the best in Surrey.

Those county-level winners will be celebrated locally in their community during January & February 2020.
