When are nominations taken?
The Nominations period is usually between June and August. Check back later in the year for more news.
Can I nominate after the closing deadline?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept online nominations after the closing date.
How does the nomination process work?
Local sports councils and local boroughs and districts in Surrey hold local awards ceremonies throughout September and October. They each have a variety of awards open for the public to submit nominations from June - August 2017.
Can I send my form in by post?
Active Surrey host this website for you to submit nominations easily online. If you would like to write a nomination instead and send through the post, you should contact your local authority or sports council to arrange this. If you are unsure of the contact details, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01483 518944.
I am experiencing problems submitting a nomination, what should I do?
On rare occassions you may experience problems with submitting an online nomination. If this happens, please check the following:
- your browser is the latest version
- your computer is cleared of cookies
- you have completed all form fields
- the security code is typed in correctly all with lower case letters
If you have checked the above and still cannot submit your nomination, please copy and paste into an email and send it to email@example.com and we will enter it for you.

How many nominations can I submit?
You can submit as many nominations as you require.
Why do I need to follow the criteria?
A judging panel score all nominations, so all information is checked. The scoring process is marked in reference to the award criteria. Therefore, if you write your nomination in reference to the criteria, you will score well. Write the nomination with as much detail as possible. The judges do not know your nominee like you do, so you need to give lots of information, examples of achievement, and explain the detail about their achievements. The more detail the better.
How do I know if my nomination has been submitted successfully?
After you click submit, a thank you message will appear on your screen, this is your confirmation that your nomination has been submitted and sent to us. If this does not appear or yellow triangles appear against entry fields on the form, please check you have completed all the required mandatory fields correctly and try to re-submit.
How will I know if I have been shortlisted?
Your local authority of sports council will contact those nominees that have been selected for short-listing in September.
Can I nominate someone for more than one award?
Yes. As long as they meet the criteria.
Can I save my online form and complete it at a later date?
Are these awards just for individual, teams and clubs in Surrey?
Yes, this is a Surrey-only awards however, if you live outside of Surrey but play sport in Surrey you could still apply. Similarly if you live in Surrey but play sport outside of Surrey you could apply.
